About the university
Manipal College of Medical Sciences (MCOMS), Pokhara was established in 1994 as a collaboration between the Manipal Group and the Government of Nepal and the 750-bed Manipal Teaching Hospital, Pokhara was inaugurated in 1998. The college and hospital have been set up with the most modern facilities for modern education and health delivery. The college is affiliated to the Kathmandu University. It offers a five and a half years MBBS Degree (four and a half years + one year internship) programme. The language of instruction is English. MCOMS started postgraduate programmes and the School of Nursing & Allied Health programmes in the year 2000. The venture has helped in the overall development of Nepal besides providing direct employment to a number of local people.
