About the university
The University was established under Mohi-ud-Din Islamic University Nerian Sharif Act, 1999, passed by the Legislative Assembly of Azad Jammu & Kashmir. The main objective underlying the establishment of the University is to produce graduates equipped with modern knowledge in combination with the basic religious education to enable them meet the challenges of the new millennium. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has affirmed the equivalence of the degrees, diplomas and certificates awarded by the University with the corresponding degrees, diplomas and certificates of other universities in Pakistan. It was accredited by the PM&DC in 2009 and was approved by the Ministry of Health, Government of Pakistan for 100 students per year.
