About the university
The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology traces its beginnings to the wood working classes offered for male pupils in the intermediate grades of the Wright Institute, which opened in 1905 in San Isidro, Nueva Ecija by virtue of Act No. 919. In 1908, a separate industrial or trade building of the woodworking classes and basic lessons in telegraphy was completed. This marked the beginning of formal classes in vocational training from 1908 to 1927. The passage of Vocational Act 3377 on December 3, 1927 providing for the production of vocational education and establishment of vocational schools paved the way for the opening of the Nueva Ecija Trade School on June 7, 1929.
