About the university
The University has seven faculties. It is the largest university in the city and the other in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie region in terms of the number of professors , students and alumni , as well as the number of offered courses of study and forms of education. Didactic process is carried out at the undergraduate and Engineering ( I degree ) complementary master ( second degree ) and doctoral ( grade III ). The University also runs postgraduate studies for several dozen specialties. Educational offerings forms approx. 100 faculties and specialties. In 2010, the USW studied 14,000 students, of which approx. 33% were from outside the region Kuyavian-Pomeranian . This year, the university employed approx. 1,100 people, including 665 teachers , 150 professors (including 60 titular). In 2010, the University had nine departments of the powers confer the degree of doctor (literature, linguistics, pedagogy, psychology, history, science, politics, conducting, biology, mechanics) and two power to confer the degree of doctor habilitated (pedagogy, history).
