About the university
University college traditions date back to 1944, when under the newly created University of Marii Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin established the first four faculties: Medical, Life Sciences, Agricultural and Veterinary School. Among the more recently created department began operations in 1953, Department of Animal Husbandry. In 1955, on the wave of the creation of new universities, the then rector by prof. Bohdan Dobrzański was ordered establishment of faculties of agriculture, veterinary and zootechnical separate units of scientific teaching and research. The Council of Ministers resolution No. 503 of 6 August 1955. The Higher School of Agriculture in Lublin. Its first rector was Prof.. Bohdan Dobrzański. Development of the university, the expansion of the business, led to the appointment of two more departments in 1970: Horticulture (since 2010 Horticulture and Landscape Architecture) and Agricultural Technology (since 2003 Production Engineering). Council of Ministers of 23 September 1972. University was given a new name. Since then, for over 35 years, there was the name Agricultural University in Lublin.
