Admission Requirements The following are eligible to apply to the cycle of studies leading to the Doctoral degree (a) Holders of a master's degree or legal equivalent; b) Holders of a Bachelor degree who have a particularly relevant academic or scientific curriculum vitae that is recognized as attesting the capacity to carry out this cycle of studies by the PhD Scientific Committee; c) Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum vitae that is recognized as attesting the capacity to carry out this cycle of studies by the Scientific Committee of the doctorate. Documents required for candidacy: - Thesis Pre-project; - Cover letter/Motivation Letter; - Curriculum Vitae; - Identification document; - Qualifications Certificate. The selection process includes a mandatory individual interview with each candidate Objectives The main objective of the PhD in Communication Sciences is to train researchers and teachers in the area of media and communication studies. Thus, this proposal aims to meet the need for innovative and creative training in the country and in the Lusophone space in its area of specialty, Communication Sciences. The central object of this proposed doctoral course is the in-depth investigation of the integration between communication, society and technology and the way it then impacts on the main communication models and their respective areas of social, cultural and economic intervention. The additional aim of this cycle of studies is the reinforcement of the research and training capacity of ECATI - School of Communication, Arts and Information Technologies of Lusófona University, of which Communication Sciences are a core area.
