Admission Requirements The following may apply to the cycle of studies that leads to the mestre degree a) holders of a licenciado degree or legal equivalent; b) Holders of a foreign academic degree conferred following a 1st cycle of studies organized according to the principles of the Bologna process by a State that adheres to that process; c) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree that is recognized as fulfilling the objectives of the degree of licenciado by the statutorily competent body; d) holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum vitae that is recognized by the statutorily competent body of ULHT as attesting to the capacity to carry out this cycle of studies. Access requirements: Students with a background in the areas of audiovisual and film production and directing, as well as students with other background but who demonstrate relevant professional experience, will be admitted to the Master's degree course in Film Studies. In addition to a detailed CV, all applicants must submit the following: (a) an individual portfolio that allows an assessment of the candidate's artistic and professional path as well as the relevance of his/her past experience. This portfolio should preferably be delivered in digital format. b) Individual project containing a note of intent, synopsis and other elements that the candidate considers relevant concerning an original concept for the production of a cinematographic work. Seriation criteria: - 50% mark of the previous qualification - 50% Interview Candidates without a degree or previous qualification score, the interview will be weighted 100%. Further Studies Specialization and post-graduate programs, including 3rd cycle programs referring to doctoral studies. Career Prospects The Master in Film Studies aims at preparing professionals able to work in the different creative and conceptual areas inherent to film production, with emphasis on the areas of writing, development and production, besides qualifying for a professional activity related to the teaching and critical exploration of film heritage. Remarks The course units are taught in Portuguese, with the exception of one course unit which is taught in English. Schedule: The course works in an evening regime.
