Objectives The main goal of this undergraduate degree is to provide theoretical and practical training of a specialized technological and artistic nature, with an orientation towards professional practice, in the areas of animation, digital games, video, multimedia communication and the interactive arts. 1. to promote broad-band elementary and interdisciplinary training that integrates theoretical and applied knowledge in the scientific areas of this undergraduate degree. 2 to adapt the training profile and the syllabus of the curricular units to the actual characteristics and needs of the Portuguese and European labour market in this sector. 3 to provide the competencies necessary for the future professional practice and the continuation of scientific studies in more advanced cycles of learning. 4 to reinforce the course¿s international dimension and its integration in the European space for higher education. Knowledge, abilities and skills to be acquired Competences to be acquired: - Conceive and write interactive fictions and narratives for digital games; -Create virtual architectures and platforms, taking advantage of social programmes and entertainment spaces; -Design and produce games (Game Design and Game Art) or, alternatively, program games (Programming); -Learn to create and produce games of different technical types (computer, console, mobile, network); -Create and produce entertainment systems for multiple participants that combine online and offline game types; -Develop virtual communities from social systems attached to digital games; -Use 3D modelling and animation; -Program for Mobile Applications and different game consoles; -Program for networks, front-end and back-office applications; -Conceptually develop and produce storyboards, and write projects; -Promote and distribute entertainment products; -Design and manage multimedia projects.
