The Ecological University of Bucharest, the first private institution of higher education in Roman, founded on April 4, 1990 under the aegis of the Romanian Athenaeum Society, was institutionally accredited by Law no. 282 of June 26, 2003. The Ecological University of Bucharest is a legal person of private law, of public utility, part of the national educational system, the only one with an ecological profile in the country, which operates on the basis of the law and its own academic charter. The Ecological University of Bucharest has university autonomy and economic and financial autonomy, based on the private property guaranteed by the Constitution.
