About the university
The University of Art and Design of Cluj-Napoca (UAD) is a public institution of artistic higher education. UAD is a public utility legal entity with a nonprofit character. Subordinated to the Ministry of National Education and Scientific Research, UAD operates under the national legal framework specific to the field of education and the public institutions sector and according to the provisions of the University Charter. As a result of the 2011 classification exercise, UAD was classified as a teaching and artistic creation university. The University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca includes two faculties: the Faculty of Fine Arts and the Faculty of Decorative Arts and Design and operates in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Declaration, developing an educational process divided into three cycles: bachelor, master and doctorate.
