About the university
Created by Decree 2008-537 of May 22, 2008, the Assane SECK University of Ziguinchor (UASZ) opened its doors in February 2007 with a staff of 257 students divided into three Units of Formation and Research (UFR) which are: The UFR Sciences and Technologies, the UFR Sciences Economiques et Sociales and the UFR Lettres, Arts et Sciences Humaines. This young university is located in the outskirts of Diabir, in the municipality of Ziguinchor. The Missions is: - To train qualified senior managers from Senegal and other African countries, mainly from the subregion, in sectors corresponding to the needs of the local, national and regional economy; - Develop quality scientific research in line with local and national issues; - Emphasize good academic governance for optimal use of the institution's human, material and financial resources; - Use information and communication technologies to improve its performance in teaching, research and management.
