About the university
The Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica was established by the National Council of the Slovak Republic no. 156/1997 Coll. On the creation of the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica on the date 01. 07. 1997th. The college fulfills its mission of providing higher education in all three levels of study in the field of music, fine arts, theater, film and art studies of the multimedi.Poslaním Academy of Arts, which is part of the European Higher Education Area and the common European research space, the development of a harmonious personality, knowledge , Wisdom, kindness and creativity in a person, and to contribute to the development of the knowledge society. We are an art school that fifteen years ago became the first outside the Bratislava College of Art and its meaning is confirmed, in particular, that was brought up in theater, music, film and fine arts for over two thousand graduates who are now spreading their reputation at home and abroad. Education in art has its own characteristics and differs from other universities for its demands on teachers who, in addition to studies, life and for their artistic creativity.
