About the university
TNU is an educational community of vibrant and learned scholars, professionals, friends, and students. TNU was established in 1994, by virtue of merging different universities located in the province of Thai Nguyen, which were founded earlier as autonomous institutions of learning. Since then, TNU has become one of the leading regional Universities in Vietnam. TNU has resolved its vision to be a topmost national university with a position of great magnitude in providing education and training in the northern region. Guided by its vision, TNU has increased its curricular offerings, as follows: thirty one (31) major for doctoral level, fifty (50) majors for master’s level, nineteen (19) majors for therapists and regional doctors, 190 programs for bachelor level, and 21 programs for college level, with English, Vietnamese, and Chinese as languages of instruction in different curricular programs. Its various curricular offerings are in the areas of teacher education, agriculture and forestry, medicine and pharmacy, economics and business administration, natural and social sciences, information and communications technology, industrial technology, foreign languages, and vocational trainings.
