About the university
The Zurich University of Teacher Education (PH Zurich, PHZH) is the training and education center for teachers in the Swiss canton of Zurich. It has existed since autumn 2002 and resulted from the merger of the eight existing institutions of teacher training. It belongs to the cantonal university of applied sciences. It is one of the four part-schools of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences. PH Zurich is divided into the following areas: Training for incoming teachers at all levels (pre-school, primary, lower and upper secondary) Continuing education for teachers, school leaders, school authorities, university students and parents research Services (such as consultancy, library, digital learning center, international office, learning forum, event management) About 3'400 people study at the PH Zurich; About 600 lecturers, scientific staff and assistants, as well as 230 employees in administrative, technical and operational functions (full or partial). In addition, around 12,400 participants participate in further training and consulting services each year.
