About the university
The University of Tunis is a university based in Tunis ( Tunisia ). It was founded in 1960 by replacing existing institutions 6 . In 1988 , it was subdivided into three institutions, Tunis I, II and III, following the restructuring of higher education and scientific research institutions. In 2000 , these three institutions are replaced by four institutions, including the University of Tunis. The University of Tunis holds some sixty specialties in fifteen institutions of higher education and research. It has about 29,000 students supervised by more than 1,300 teachers. The academic year 2004 - 2005 is under the sign of the opening in order to increase inter-university cooperation to contribute to the achievement of a Euro-Mediterranean higher education and research.
