About the university
The University Mahmud el-Materi UMM is a university private Tunisian based in Tunis , approved by the Tunisian government, which was first specialized in the paramedical field. It is named after Dr. Mahmoud El Materi whose daughter, Anissa El Materi Hached, is the founding president of the institution. It was in 2000 that Anissa El Materi Hached created the Mahmoud el Materi Institute (IMM) for the professional training of nurses. Then, in 2007, she transformed the IMM into University Mahmoud el Materi (UMM). At this date, the Mahmoud el Materi University continues to train nurses only. However, as of 2009, it began to diversify, initially by training physiotherapists, then training in anesthesia-resuscitation in 2010, obstetrics in 2011, nutrition in 2013 and geriatrics Older people) by 2015.
