About the university
Ankara University is a university founded in Ankara in 1946. Based on earlier histories, deep-rooted faculties were brought together under the roof of Ankara University. Ankara University is an educational institution established with the University Law and the first university of the Republic of Turkey. One of Turkey's most important and respected universities, Ankara University's oldest and most established colleges are the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine established in 1842 and the Faculty of Political Sciences founded in 1859.
