About the university
Bezmialem Vakif University (BVU) is the first thematic university in Health and Life Sciences in Turkey founded in 2010 but historically dates back to 1845. It is a non-profit foundation university that aims to make progress in education, health care and research. It has mainly 4 campuses, 1 Phytotherapy Research Center and 2 Institutes located at the very heart of each side of Istanbul. BVU keeps these goals more than 175-year old heritage alive and aims to be a reference institution worldwide with its 4 Schools: Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy as well as 6 Departments: Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation, Nursing, Audiology, Health Management, Occupational Therapy and Nutrition & Dietetics departments under the School of Health Sciences. BVU also has 3 Graduate Schools: Institute of Health Sciences, Life Sciences and Biotechnology, and Gastroenterology. It also has 1 Vocational School of Health Services, with its 14 two-year programs
