About the university
Gazikent University was founded on August 19, 2008 by the Gaziantep Education and Services Foundation. Gazikent University is aware of its historical heritage; Understand and interpret the contemporary world; Is a university that will shape itself on the basis of the future and directly with a participatory democratic culture. The decision to change the name of our university, which was taken by the Board of Trustees, was deemed appropriate by YÖK and the name of our university was changed to "Hasan Kalyoncu University" with a law accepted by the Grand National Assembly on 18 April 2012. Our university's new name, Lately, memories have been kept alive by teaching and giving names of people who served my country to various universities. No, the recognition of the owners with "no" is a necessity of our tradition and our culture. With this decision, we are the founder and the name of Hasan Kalyoncu, our late son, will become eternal with our university. As Gazikent University, we will continue as Hasan Kalyoncu University with the vision of "being a university focused on education, research and innovation on the basis of freedom, justice and morality".
