About the university
Kyiv State Institute of Decorative and Applied Art and Design named Michael Boychuk was founded in December 1999 at the Kyiv Art and Industry College. Based institute founded long tradition of Ukrainian national art. The origin of the Institute goes back to drawing school Mykola Murashko, Kiev Art School (1900-1920) and Kyiv College of Applied Arts (1938-1957), who became the first professional schools for such luminaries Ukrainian painting, Nicholas Pimonenko Oleksandr Murashko John Izhakevich, Photios Krasitsky, Kazimir Malevich, Alexander Archipenko and later John Kavaleridze Anatoly Petryts'kyi and Alexandra Exter and artists boychukisty Ivan Padalka and Mr. Sedlyar.
