About the university
International Balkan University is a university founded by the Skopje Education and Culture Development Foundation. It is in Skopje, Macedonia. It was created with the support of Turkish and Macedonian businessmen and professors. The university opened in 2006 with seven students and now has more than 500 students from many nationalities. The university is accredited by the Macedonian Ministry of Education. Representatives of the Turkish High Education (YÖK) made their first visit to the university in 2008, and now the university is accredited by YÖK.
