About the university
The University of the Republic (Udelar) is the principal institution of higher education and research of Uruguay. In collaboration with a wide range of institutional and social actors, it also carries out multiple activities aimed at the socially valuable use of knowledge and the dissemination of culture. It is a public institution, autonomous and co-governed by its teachers, students and graduates.
