About the university
The Faculty of Medicine of Montevideo is part of the fourteen faculties of the University of the Republic (UdelaR) . It was founded by decree on December 15, 1875 . The Faculty of Medicine, as a member of the University of the Republic, is the only national public institution of higher education, secular, free, autonomous, democratic and co-managed, committed to the educational demands of our society and improving the quality of Life of the population.
