About the university
The Institute of Statistics (IESTA) is a Research Institute of the Faculty of Economics and Administration of the University of the Republic. It was founded in 1942 as a field of study, updating and elaboration of works in the field of Statistics. In the activities of IESTA are integrated, research in both Methodological aspects of Statistics as applied to Social Sciences, Biometrics, Agronomics, Technological, etc., with teaching at different levels. IESTA maintains permanent relations of exchange with academic institutions abroad participating in seminars, congresses, internships and receiving teachers from different countries.
