About the university
The Bolivarian University of Venezuela or UBV is a public university created in the last decade in Venezuela, founded in 2003 by presidential decree. She began her academic work in various academic areas in September of that year. The UBV was created to serve as the tip of the Misión Sucre program, designed to serve "the popular sectors traditionally excluded from institutions of higher education." Due to the municipalization of its training programs, it is currently the university with the highest number of students in the country. Thanks to the creation of this University and of the Sucre Mission in a Unesco report, it appears that Venezuela ranks second in Latin America and the Caribbean in terms of university education. According to these figures, Venezuela is in fifth place in the world, behind Cuba, Korea, Finland and Greece.
