Zambia Open University (ZAOU) is a privately run accredited institution in Zambia. It opened its doors in 2002 and it is recognized and registered under the University Act No. 11 of 1999 of the Laws of Zambia. ZAOU provides quality university education through the provision of open, distance education. The institution is registered and approved with the Ministry of Education. Zambia Open University It has operational centres in Kitwe, Lusaka, Livingstone, Kabwe, Solwezi, Mongu, Mansa, Chipata and Kasama. The University opens educational opportunities to many and enables students to learn or study at their own convenient times. For a number of different reasons, most people cannot physically attend classes or find it more convenient to study at their own time; ZAOU is specifically tailored to suit that!
