About the university
Bernardo O'Higgins University is an institution devoted to academic training, research and the dissemination of knowledge, which contributes to the spiritual, cultural and economic development of the country by preparing graduates and professionals in different areas of knowledge. In accordance with its values and principles it facilitates the integral formation of its students in an environment of discipline, respect and tolerance. Also, within its objectives, the University promotes research, creation, preservation and transmission of universal knowledge within the field of sciences and humanities. It was created and was constituted as a Foundation of Private Law without profit, by public deed, on March 1, 1990 in Santiago. The constitution document also approved its statutes and appointed the first Board of Directors, which designs the strategic guidelines of the institution and ensures the academic training that allows the development of professionals that contribute to the growth of the environment to which they belong , Capable of assimilating innovations in their areas and with a strong sense of service
