About the university
Sichuan Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics is approved by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, the Ministry of Education for the establishment of a general higher education enrollment qualification of the public full-time higher vocational institutions, is the national defense science and technology industrial system in Sichuan, the only one higher occupation Institutions. The predecessor of the College of Sichuan Aerospace Industrial School was founded in 1965, 2003 by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved the Ministry of Education for the establishment of Sichuan Aerospace Vocational and Technical College. In 2011, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education and the Sichuan Provincial Department of Finance approved the Institute to become a provincial-level higher vocational colleges in Sichuan Province. As of December 2015, the college has Longquan camp campus, Guanghan Sanxingdui campus school two districts, a total area of 710 acres, teaching and research equipment assets of 67.98 million yuan, 63 practice base, school practice base 156; with 10 teaching departments, opened 49 specialist; 565 full-time teachers, as of August 2015, the total number of college students in the 12506 people.
