Henan Medical College

Established in 1952, Henan Medical College was originally known as “Henan Health Cadre’s School”. It mainly served as the training institution of Henan Province’s medical and health professionals. Moreover, it also offered the general secondary medical education. In 1984, with development of the school, its name was changed to “Henan Medical College for Staff and Workers”. In 1993, the school began to undertake the medical education for adults. In 2002, with the approval of the Education Department of Henan Province, Henan Medical College began to provide higher medical education and recruit college students. The college plays a significant role in the higher medical education of Henan Province. Henan Medical College consists of two campuses: the southern campus (located in Longhu Town of Zhengzhou City) and the northern campus (located in Jinshui District of Zhengzhou City). The whole campus covers an area of 74.84 hectares with a total construction building area of 240,700 square meters and a total property value of 500 million RMB. The college has a beautiful environment, convenient transportation and rich facilities. The college offers a three-year curriculum for college students, as well as some adult learning programmes. The college has 9 departments with faculties in nursing, medicine, pharmacy, medical laboratory sciences, medical technology, ideological and political education, public basic courses, basic medical sciences, and continuous education. Besides, the college offers a full range of courses for 20 majors, such as clinical medicine, nursing, rehabilitative therapy technology, medical nutrition, pharmacy, pharmaceutical preparation technology, food and drug administration, medical laboratory sciences, medical imaging technology, medical cosmetic technology, and optometry technology.
