About the university
The college was established in 1947, during the Chinese Civil War. In 1993, it was renamed PLA Medical Higher Junior College. In May 1999, it was merged into the Third Army Medical University and renamed Third Medical College of the Army of Chengdu Military Medical University. Thus it has a long history of administration by the military. Chengdu Medical College is a public higher education institution located in the large city of Chengdu (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Sichuan. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Department of Education, Sichuan Province, Chengdu Medical College (CMC) is a coeducational higher education institution. Chengdu Medical College (CMC) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study.
