Guidaojiaotong Polytechnic Institute

Founded in 1950, Guidaojiaotong Polytechnic Institute(GPI) is located in Shenyang(Liaoning Province), the political, economic and cultural center of Northeast China. It is a higher vocational college featuring services of railway transportation and equipment manufacturing. As a full-time academic school, GPI pays equal attention to the development of both vocational training and applied technical services. The ideas of collectivization, professionalization, characterization and internalization have long been insisted on as the running strategy. In addition, a series of brand development strategies has been set to pursue the targets of moderate scale, safety first, distinctive characteristics and pursuit of excellence. The main campus is located in Shenyang Economic and Technological Development Zone where equipment manufacturing industry gathers, covering an area of 512 acres with 142000 square meters building area. Currently, GPI has a faculty of 316 teachers, including 15 professors and 56 associate professors. The number of teachers possessing either a doctor degree or a master degree reaches 167. The proportion of double-certificate teachers amounts to 100%. The teaching team brings together top teachers of railway transportation in China’s vocational education, provincial-level professionals from Liaoning vocational colleges and experts from industries and enterprises. The newly-built campus highlights the ideas of professionalization, intellectualization, informatization and humanization. Teaching buildings integrate teaching, studying and operating into one. The systems of One-card, Access Control and Video Surveillance create a modern environment for teachers and students. The 100 billion-level network and complete WiFi coverage have taken initial shape. The pedestrian and vehicle dividing system, drinkable water supply and linking corridors greatly facilitate the campus life of both teachers and students.
