About the university
Shanghai Conservatory of Music was a great democratic revolutionist, outstanding educator, thinker Mr. Cai Yuanpei and music educator Dr. Xiao Youmei in November 27, 1927 co-founded the National Music Academy. The first president is Mr. Cai Yuanpei. In 1929 September changed its name to the National Music Academy. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, in 1956 named the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
