About the university
The prestigious journalist Rodrigo Fournier and Dr. Helia Betancourt created the first journalism school outside state universities. Ms. Nora Ramírez de Chacón, distinguished educator, prepared the proposal of the Faculty of Education. Federated University San Judas Tadeo, was the first university to offer courses of Education with Bachelor's degrees that offer programs that integrate children with disabilities to the regular classroom. The academic quality and warmth of the university have been recognized by hundreds of journalists who are in the newsrooms, offices and addresses of the most important media, government agencies and institutions. With the passage of time the University has remained at the forefront offering a variety of postgraduate courses for the continuous specialization of communicators. In 1999, the School of Medicine was founded, which offers a modern curriculum, according to the proposals of the World Health Organization and PAHO, oriented towards primary care, without neglecting specialized training in hospitals . The student is given a solid ethical and research training so that the future doctor can be not only a researcher, but also a professional committed to his socio-cultural reality.
