The Master’s Degree Programme in Information and Communication Technology provides versatile and high quality ICT education in selected fields of ICT, with an established reputation in innovative, interdisciplinary, and international education. In the academic year 2021-2022, the Programme offers at least following specialisation tracks: – Cyber Security – Smart Systems – Cryptography – Software Engineering – Data Analytics The Cyber Security specialisation track gives its students profound and substantial education and expertise in the field of security and technology of networked systems. The track focuses on researching cyber security technologies developed for networked systems and applications of the communication-intensive future. The technological topics covered include security of smart environments, system and network security, security of communication systems and applications, and designing secure systems. Students will explore both technological and theoretical scientific advances in the field and apply them to practice. The graduates will have a strong technological, theoretical, and practical understanding of cyber security. With their new knowledge and skills, the graduates can proceed to build a successful career in securing the information and communication technology industry. Job options The expertise profile may lead to a career title of e.g. – network security specialist – information security specialist – security manager – chief information officer – cryptography engineer The information-intensive industry has become one of the most important business sectors in Finland, and in the information society, information has become one of the most relevant products. In Europe, ICT has a critical role in improving the profitability of the business sector and in responding to the needs of the society. Securing the business sector and its products is vital in the modern era. In addition to pursuing careers in the IT industry as cyber security specialists and experts, graduates of the Programme are also eligible to apply for PhD studies.
