About the university
L'École des Mines d'Alès (nom officiel : École Nationale Supérieure des Mines d'Alès (Mines Alès)) ou EMA, placée sous la tutelle du Ministère de l'Économie, des Finances et de l'Emploi, est une grande école d'ingénieurs généraliste française2. Fondée en 1843 sous Louis-Philippe par ordonnance royale, l'école est l’une des plus anciennes écoles d'ingénieurs. Historiquement implantée à Alès, elle dispose aujourd'hui d'extensions à Nîmes et Pau. Elle est membre de l'Institut Mines-Télécom, du Groupe des Écoles des Mines et de la Conférence des Grandes écoles.
