University Institute of Technology of Vannes

The IUT of Vannes is a university institute of technology attached to the University of South Brittany, main university of Morbihan. The IUT is located in Vannes in the district of Kercado. It has 1,200 students and 15,000 graduates since its creation in 1970. It offers a range of training courses (DUT, LP, DU, accounting department) dedicated to business services. The IUT of Vannes was created in September 1970, in the Rue des Halles. This place is temporary, waiting for the realization of the current premises, in the Montaigne street. The school has about 70 students and a few teachers. In the early years, the only specialty taught was the Administration of Collectivities and Public Enterprises (ACEP), an ancestor of the future department. Students can choose between two options: Administration and Finance / Accounting. In September 1971, Statistics and Business Intelligence (STID), Statistics and Business Intelligence (STTI). The IUT is then attached to the University of Rennes. In 1972, the University of Rennes was divided into 2 and the IUT was then attached to Rennes 2 until 1995, when the University of South Brittany was created. In 1986, ITU adopted a 3 rd DUT IT department. Then, in 1991, the last department is open: Marketing Techniques (TC). In 2000, the IUT also opens some professional licenses: there are 7 at the moment.
