The aim of the Bachelor’s degree course is to enable students to become authors in design, art and media: students can combine the study areas of Film and Video, New Media and Visual Communication or concentrate on one area. However, the aim is always to combine theory, art and technology and to implement the findings in innovative media projects that reveal a unique signature. Researching, arguing, academic work, reflecting on the context of one’s own work and knowledge of relevant specialist and theoretical discourses are important elements. They are balanced by the compulsory practical semester, during which students acquire practical professional skills – either in Germany or abroad.
