About the university
The Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, founded in 1991 by Albrecht Adele, is one of the leading international educational institutions for film and media. In 2010, the renowned magazine "The Hollywood Reporter" placed the Filmakademie as the only German institution on the list of the best film schools worldwide. The Academy was again represented on this list in 2015. Since 2005, she has been headed by Thomas Schadt as Director and Managing Director. The training philosophy is characterized by the teamwork of approximately 500 students, a high number of film productions (about 250 per year) and about 300 free guest teachers from the film and media industry, who pass on their knowledge and experience directly to the students.
