About the university
Catholic University of Honduras "The Virgin Mary of Peace" was established in accordance with canon law in June 1992 and was officially approved on December 4 of the same year. On February 3, 1993, on the day marked by Deva Suyap, the Catholic University of Honduras "Our Lady of the Queen of Peace" began its activity in the premises of the former small seminary of Sana-Jos, located in the city of Tegucigalpa, Starts in Santa Rosa de Copán on February 3, 2003 with the name of the town of Santa Rosa de Copán. Later on September 18, 2007, at the request of Rector Elio David Alvarenga, the bishop of the diocese of Santa Rosa de Copán and the chancellor of the university statute, Monsignor Luis Alfonso Santos, decided to record the number 439 denoting Santa Rosa de Lima our campus in honor of The patron saint of the city.
