About the university
The predecessor of the college, the Baja State Teacher Training Institute, was founded on the law of Eotvos József on October 17, 1870. From September 7, 1959, the teacher training (according to the legal changes) is carried out at higher level instead of the upper middle class. September 1, 1962, The National Directorate General for Water established the Higher Water Management Technique. Since 1970 Technikum has been affiliated with the Faculty of Water Management of the Technical University of Budapest and then in 1979 at the Pollack Mihály Technical College in Pécs. The two universities of higher education in Baja were merged in 1996, Thus creating the country's first integrated college. The Pedagogical and Artistic Courses at the Pedagogical Faculty (later Faculty of Pedagogy) and the technical and management training are held at the Technical Faculty (later Faculty of Technology and Economics).
