About the university
Since the Government is finding difficult to fulfill all the needs in medical education, the Safe Development Alms Trust, Palakkad has entered the scene of Medical Education. The trust has started the Karuna Hospital at Vilayodi, Chittur in the year 2004 and entered the Medical Education field in the year 2006 by starting Karuna Medical College as a part of Karuna Institute of Medical Sciences. The Safe Development Alms Trust is a registered Charitable Trust constituted by the Minority Community of Muslims of with its headquarters at Karuna Hospital Campus, Melamuri, Palakkad, Kerala. Since its inceptions in the 1993, this trust has been actively engaged in the educational, social, and Health Activities in this region. Karuna Hospital started functioning at Melamuri which is in the heart of city since 1994 in a single campus consisting of 3 acres of land with specialty facilities.
