DVS College of Arts and Science, a First Grade College was opened on the 1st of July 1966. clip_image002-copy-150x150 Initially the college offered only one Science combination along with the traditional courses in Humanities. But the college felt the need to respond to the changing scenario of the society and opened many need based courses over the years. Now the institution offers three different courses (B.A, B.Sc, B.C.A & B.Com) with a variety of combinations. Earlier the college was affiliated to University of Mysore and now it is affiliated to Kuvempu University. Resultantly the College has earned a name by virtue of its disciplined functioning and its achievements in the academic field as well as in the field of sports and games. Based on its infrastructure, learning resources and achievements,the College is accredited by NAAC at B+ level and College is recognized as District Lead College for Total Quality Management(TQM) by Government of Karnataka. Right from its inception the college has been in the lime light by getting many ranks and has become synonym for excellence. It is worthwhile to mention in this context that our students have found top positions in Research institutions and various companies both in India and abroad. To impart quality education and to create an academic ambiance the college has been organizing a number of unique programmes like National and State Level Seminars, Workshops and Exhibitions both for teachers and students.The rank list of our students is lengthening year after year and reflects this the academic atmosphere of the collage.
