The long-cherished aspiration of the Devangars to help fostering education among the youngsters of Aruppukottai and its suburbs who are not able to go for collegiate educations solely because of monetary indisposition has by the grace of Goddess Sri Sowdambigai Amman found its fulfilment in instituting this college by steps taken by the Aruppukottai Town Devangar Commercial Association. Aruppukottai is a academic backward area in Virudhunagar district. Aruppukottai town is 50 kms away from Madurai, the Temple City. Having attained the Autonomous Status, the College has got the privilege of framing the syllabi according to the changes in the academic field. Under CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) a student is exposed to several areas that may add skills in his career. Continuous care for physical and mental stability is extended to the students by bringing a professional Psychologist and a General Medical Practitioner to the College. Empowerment programme, Placement Training and Smart Class come under regular academic programmes of this college. Priority is given to the first generation women learners in getting admission. MNC’s are invited to educate the students about the recent required skill in the various sectors. With the help of an MOU made with M/s. Sutherland Global Industries, the College is able to introduced a skill based paper “Corporate Communication” for the benefit of outgoing students. In fulfilling the Industrial requirements the college offers a Diploma Course, “Placement Training” to the final year students.
