The State Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim (UIN Suska) Riau is the result of the development / improvement of educational status of the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Sulthan Syarif Qasim Pekanbaru officially confirmed based on Presidential Regulation No. 2 of 2005 dated January 4, 2005 on Amendment of IAIN Sulthan Syarif Qasim Pekanbaru became UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau and inaugurated on February 9, 2005 by President of RI, Dr. H. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono as a follow-up to this status change, the Minister of Religious Affairs stipulates the Organization and Administration of UIN Suska Riau based on the Regulation of the Minister of Religious Affairs No. 8 of 2005 dated April 4, 2005. In the academic year 2002/2003 the general study program that existed in the faculty above and added some new courses, was upgraded to a stand-alone faculty. The faculties are the Faculty of Science and Technology with the Department / Program of Informatics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, and Mathematics; Faculty of Psychology with Department / Study Program of Psychology; Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences with Management Studies Program, Accounting and Corporate Management Diploma III; And Faculty of Animal Husbandry with Animal Science Study Program with concentration of Animal Production Technology, Animal Product Technology and Feed Technology and Nutrition. Thus, in the academic year 2002/2003, IAIN Susqa as preparation UIN Suska Riau has 8 faculties.
