About the university
Batam State Polytechnic (Polibatam) is the only State University (PTN) Vocation in the free trade and port area of Batam, Bintan and Karimun Riau Islands Province. In addition to being located in one of the central areas of national economic growth, Polibatam is also located in the foremost and outermost regions of the Unitary State of the Indonesian republic which is bordered directly by international waters. At first Polibatam is a Private University under the Batam Education Foundation which consists of Batam Authority, Bandung Institute of Technology, Batam City Government, and University of Riau. Along with the development of performance and achievements that have been achieved for a decade, on October 18, 2010, Government through the Regulation of the Minister of National Education No. 26 of 2010 officially declare Polibatam become PTN with the name of Batam State Polytechnic. Thus starting Academic Year 2011/2012, student status and graduates of Polibatam are students and graduates of State University or Government College.
