Exponential advances in science, technology and medicine over the last decade have demonstrated the power of multidisciplinary approaches to solving today's challenges in biology and medicine. This paradigm transcends traditional boundaries between classical disciplines such as biology, physics, engineering and computer science, and offers a unified approach. The 5 year direct PhD in Bioengineering program offers a unique set of courses and laboratory experiences in this growing field. Projects range from the mapping of transcriptional networks, innovative human-on-a-chip devices, to developmental biology and micro-environmental control of bacterial populations.
