About the university
Villa Mecenati, the headquarters of the Conservatory, is an integral part of the testamentary legacy of Ms Rosita Lusardi-Mecenati who in 1970, among the notes of her last wishes, wrote: "The villa of Adria [...] must be destined [from Commune] Free and permanent residence at the Musical Lyceum and for the Concert Society A. Buzzolla ". The lady then called the name. Gianfranco Scarpari who is responsible for the adaptation of the villa to the Musical Institute. In his project, the engineer, conditioned as it was from the cost estimate, could not exceed the limits of immediate needs, such as the size, dynamics and the aesthetic characteristics of the premises. The villa's plant therefore remained essentially unchanged. Around 1920 M. Ferrante Mecenati turned to the architect Giambattista Scarpari because he designed the transformation of the estate into the villa. Mecenati had married in the meantime Mrs. Rosita Lusardi, who has always lived in a theater environment, and wanted to conceive her home in a scenic corner. The architect then devised a central advancement that would break the course of construction and recover a plan in height. The dominant taste then suggested the neoclassical ornamentation, which can be seen in the fences, in the frames, in the balustrades of columns on the roof, in the parades of different orders overlapping the central body, all obeying this wide vision scenic. The plant was then modified, according to the Venetian use of the "sling" of the representation halls, which were so "obligatory". The interior was also enveloped with the adoption of beautiful wooden floors (some of which could be recovered) with the plaster and marble ceilings of that Titta of Padua, and the beautiful wrought iron railing that adorns the staircase master.
