About the university
The Academy of Fine Arts in Reggio Calabria, also known as the Strait Academy, rises between July 25 and Bruno Buozzi street, just a short walk from the harbor and the promenade. Founded in 1967, the Regency Academy is the oldest Calabrian Academy for Fine Arts. The Frangipane library, equipped with computerized cataloging, boasts a library of 5,000 volumes, alongside the hermit library and the video library. The Academy of Fine Arts in Reggio Calabria, the first institution in Calabria and the third in southern Italy after those of Naples and Palermo, inaugurated its training activity in 1967. It initially included a painting school and a Sculpture school, to completion of the art schools of the city.
