Hiroshima National College of Maritime Technology is one of five national colleges of maritime technology in Japan. Graduates can earn deck mariner or engineer qualifications. The Hiroshima National College of Maritime Technology is a technical college with a history of more than 110 years that is located in the beautiful natural environment of the Seto Inland Sea. Students enroll in this 5-year program (5 years, 6 months for Merchant Vessels) after graduating middle school. Exchange students can enter the college as a third-year student. The college is equipped with dormitories and all exchange students wishing to reside in a dormitory may do so. The college is recognized for its professional training through classwork and practical training focused on acquiring specialized knowledge and skills with 20% of graduates advancing to university or to a major at this college (two-year course) and 80% seeking employment. The hiring rate for graduates seeking employment is 100%. Many exchange student graduates enter a public university as a third-year student.
