About the university
The Normal Higher School of the State of Mexico emerges as a yearning for the professional advancement of teachers of primary education, whose concern was presented at the Ordinary State Council of the Union of Teachers at the Service of the State of Mexico in the year 1966. Thus , The ENSEM, was created by Government Agreement, published in the Government Gazette on June 3, 1967. It indicates its role as Technical-Didactic Teaching for the training of teachers in different specialties that were required for the attention of The middle and higher levels of the State Educational System and Scientific Research, in the disciplines of the pedagogical curriculum, for the professionalisation of the staff, which indicate the respective curricula. The inaugural ceremony was held on January 2, 1968, with which the academic activities of the regular and intensive courses began, with an initial enrollment of 157 teachers in service at the Toluca Normal School.
